Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

S70 and V70 non-turbo 5-cylinder engines are equipped with a DENSO fuel injection and electronic ignition system. See ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION  table. Both systems have complete self-diagnostic capabilities. Systems use a single Powertrain Control Module (PCM) that receives input from engine monitoring sensors. PCM uses these input signals to control air/fuel mixture for emission control, fuel economy and good driveability.
