The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is designed to operate when vehicle strikes a rigid or heavy object with enough force to activate SRS. Activation impact area is directly in front of vehicle and 30 degrees on either side of dead center. In addition vehicle is equipped with Side Impact Protection System (SIPS).
SRS components include a driver-side air bag module, passenger-side air bag module, contact reel (clockspring), control module, SRS warning light, driver and front passenger side-impact air bag modules, 2 side-impact sensors in each B-pillar and seat belt tensioners for front seats (rear seat belt tensioners are included on C70 Convertible models).
