Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

SRS control module has on board diagnostic (OBD) system to provide self diagnosis and other information. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be read using VADIS and scan tool connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure. When ignition is on, SRS OBD system performs an initial self test. After self-test is completed, SRS OBD goes into monitoring mode. The system checks for internal faults in all SRS components and in output for SRS warning light.

NOTE: If SRS warning light is on, there is a fault in the SRS system.
