Removal & Installation
- Remove exhaust manifold heat shield. Remove air cleaner assembly and air intake hose.
- Remove locking pin from boost pressure control lever. Remove 2 screws (marked A) and disconnect vacuum hose from valve. Remove control valve and rotate during removal. Set new control valve to same setting as old one. Measure length of push rod and adjust length to match old control valve. See Fig 1.CAUTION: DO NOT turn shaft. This may damage control valve.
- Connect vacuum hose and clamp in place. Install control valve onto lever pin and install locking pin. Thread in screws and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install air cleaner assembly and intake hose. Adjust boost pressure control valve. See see BOOST PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. Install exhaust manifold heat shield when adjustment is complete. Tighten shield bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
