Unlocking Using The Key
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2011 Volvo V50, 2010 Volvo V50, 2009 Volvo V50, 2008 Volvo V50, and 2007 Volvo V50. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Applies to the V50:
The driver door can be unlocked and locked using the key blade that normally is inserted in the remote control. It works as a back-up solution if there should be a problem with the system. The other doors can then be unlocked with the interior central locking buttons after the key has been inserted in the ignition. The lock cylinder on the driver door is covered by a casing. This casing has to be removed first for the lock cylinder to be visible. This is done by inserting the mechanical key through a hole on the underside of the casing and pulling outward.
