VIDA = Volvo Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales

SPA = Scalable Product Architecture

PDS = Pre-Delivery Service

This TJ describes the function and use of Configuration Test software that is available in VIDA.

SERVICE

Configuration Test software can be used to synchronize a vehicle's data with Volvo's central software database.

This can be used if a vehicle experiences any of the following:

Problems with downloading or upgrading in-car apps**
The Volvo On-Call mobile app is experiencing issues communicating with the vehicle
A Total Upgrade, Service 2.0, PDS , software package was loaded to the vehicle but the software still shows as available in the VIDA Upgrades list**
VIDA is reporting a "mismatch" when attempting a software upgrade.

Configuration Test does not actually load any software to the vehicle but it does perform a complete vehicle read-out and updates the Volvo server with this information. This can be a useful tool for verifying healthy VIDA-Vehicle-Volvo systems communication as well as aiding the Technical Helpdesk with verifying a vehicle's current status when diagnosing challenging concerns.
