Front Carpet Replacement

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands
  • Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet
  • Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components
  • When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage
  1. Remove these items
  2. Release the hooks (A), then remove the accelerator pedal clip (B)

  3. While pushing down the return spring (A), pull back the accelerator pedal (B) to release the hook (C)

  4. Remove the footrest (A) by pulling it to detach the clips

  5. Remove the bolts, then remove the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor mounting bracket (A) Detach the harness clips (C), and remove the ground bolt (D) with a TORX T30 bit Disconnect the SRS unit connector B

    Bolt specification: 6 x 1.0 mm, 9.8 N.m (1.0kgf-m, 7.2 lbf.ft) 

  6. Remove the clips (A) Detach the clips (B) fastening the carpet to both door sill areas

  7. Pull the front carpet (C) out from under the dashboard, then remove the carpet
  8. If necessary, release the hook (A) that is just under the arrow mark (B) on the floor mat holder (C) by prying up on the holder with a flat-tip screwdriver, and remove the holder through the slit (D) in the carpet (E).

  9. Install the front carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items
