Function 07 - Code Control Module
NOTE:
Control module with Part No. 4B0 907 389 cannot be coded.
When ABS control module on vehicles equipped with traction control is replaced, or specified DTC is set in control module memory, control module must be coded with engine and transmission specifications.
Control module coding can only be performed after workshop code is stored in VAG scan tool. Workshop code is stored in control module during login procedure. To perform login procedure, connect scan tool to DLC. See EQUIPMENT HOOK-UP . Then perform following:
- On scan tool, press 1 button twice to select LOGIN PROCEDURE. Press "Q" button to confirm input.
- When scan tool displays LOGIN PROCEDURE enter required code number from illustrations. See Fig 1 . Press "Q" button to confirm input.
To code control module, connect scan tool and check control module version. See FUNCTION 01 - CHECK ABS CONTROL MODULE VERSIONS under DIAGNOSIS. If it is determined that control module can be coded, perform following:
- On scan tool press forward arrow button. Enter 07 on keyboard to select FUNCTION 07 - CODE CONTROL MODULE. Press "Q" button to confirm input.
- When scan tool displays ENTER CODE NUMBER. Input proper code, and press "Q" button to confirm input. For control module codes, see Fig 2 .
- When proper control module code has been inputted, scan tool should display control module identification. Press forward arrow button. After control module has been coded, zero position adjustment for steering angle sensor must be performed. Steering angle sensor adjustment is performed in READ MEASURING VALUE BLOCK function. See FUNCTION 08 - READ MEASURING VALUE BLOCK . After testing is complete, on scan tool press 06 to select FUNCTION 06 - END OUTPUT. Press "Q" button to confirm input, and remove scan tool from DLC.
