Installation Procedure

    Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod (1) - Install

    2. CAUTION:

    Fastener Caution .

  2. Using an appropriate tool, tighten the steering linkage inner tie rod. Fastener Specifications .

    Position a NEW steering gear boot inner clamp (1) on the steering gear boot (2).

    Steering Gear Boot (1) - Install

    Steering Gear Boot Inner Clamp (2) - Tighten-use DT-35910  Drive Axle Boot Clamp Pliers (1)

    Steering Gear Boot Outer Clamp (1) - Install

    NOTE:

    Tighten the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (1) during the front toe adjustment procedure.

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Install the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (1) until aligned with the previously placed matched mark on the steering linkage inner tie rod.

    CAUTION:

    Ensure the Outer Tie Rod Boot is not twisted or deformed during assembly. If the boot is twisted or deformed, damage to the boot will occur.

    Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (2) - Install

  11. Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  13. Front Compartment Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  14. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  16. Front Compartment Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  17. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]

  19. Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  20. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  21. Lower the vehicle.
  22. Measure and adjust the front toe. Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment
