Test 9B: Sensor Ground Circuit

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Dodge Intrepid and 1998 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform TEST 9A: MODE DOOR FEEDBACK/STALL TEST FAILURE  before proceeding with this test.
  1. Locate Body Control Module (BCM), attached to junction block, at left end of instrument panel. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM Gray 14-pin connector (C1). Ensure connector terminals are clean and tight. Repair as necessary.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, backprobe BCM connector C1 terminal No. 8 (Dark Blue/Gray wire). Observe ohmmeter and reconnect BCM connector. If resistance is more than 60 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 60 ohms, repair open in Dark Blue/Gray wire between BCM connector C1 and A/C-heater assembly plenum 16-pin connector terminal No. 5. Perform VERIFICATION TEST  .
  3. Ensure ignition is off. Remove BCM from junction block. Ensure junction block 20-pin connector terminals are clean and not damaged. Repair or replace junction block as necessary. If connector terminals are okay, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION TEST  .
