Drive Unit: Removal
- Open the liftgate.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the link rod assembly from the liftgate attachment point. Refer to Link Rod REMOVAL .
- Remove the left rear D-pillar trim panel from the vehicle. Refer to INTERIOR/EXTERIOR for the procedure.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector from the power liftgate drive unit assembly. Compress the locking tab until the two connector halves can be pulled straight apart.
- Remove the power drive unit retaining bolts.
- Unhook the drive unit assembly from the D-pillar and remove the unit from the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Do not let the drive unit bolt retainers drop into the body cavity. Rattles and customer complaints could result.
