Washer Pump Test
- Ensure reservoir is full. Operate washer switch. If washer pump is inoperative, go to next step. If washer pump operates but fluid does not squirt from nozzles, inspect pump, nozzles, and hoses for blockage. Repair as necessary. If pump squirts fluid, but wipers do not wipe, go to step 7).
- Turn ignition on. Check voltage at Black/White wire terminal of washer pump while operating washer switch. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 4).
- Check washer pump ground circuit (Black wire) for continuity. If continuity does not exist, repair ground circuit. If continuity exists, replace washer pump.
- Check voltage at Dark Green wire terminal of Wiper Control Module (WCM). WCM is located behind instrument panel, to left of steering column. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open circuit breaker, Dark Green wire, or connector. Repair as necessary.
- Unplug WCM connector. Press and hold washer switch. Check continuity between Brown/White wire and Dark Blue/White wire terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check for open circuit between wiper switch and WCM. If wiring is okay, test wiper switch. See WIPER SWITCH TEST .
- Reconnect wiring to WCM. Turn ignition on. Press and hold washer switch. Check voltage at Dark Blue/Orange wire of WCM connector. If battery voltage does not exist, replace WCM. If battery voltage exists, repair White wire between WCM and wiper motor.
- Unplug wiper motor connectors. Turn ignition on. Press and release wiper switch while checking voltage between Dark Blue/Orange wire and Yellow/Red wire terminals of wiper motor. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, measure wiper motor current. See WIPER MOTOR CURRENT TEST . Replace wiper motor as necessary.
- Press and release washer switch. Check voltage between Dark Blue/Orange wire and Yellow/Red wire terminals of WCM connector. If battery voltage exists, repair wiring between WCM and wiper motor. If battery voltage does not exist, replace WCM.
