Overhaul - New Process 208: Description

The Model 208 is a part-time 4WD unit having an integral 4WD-Low range. This model is a 4-position unit, providing 2 gear ratios in 4WD (High and Low), a 2WD-High and Neutral.

A chain drive is used with front and rear output shafts mounted in ball and roller bearings. Two drive sprockets and a planetary gear assembly, consisting of a 4-pinion carrier and annulus gear, are housed in a 2-piece aluminum case. All models have manual locking hubs as standard equipment and 4WD indicator lights. These lights inform the driver of the operating mode of the vehicle.
