Front Airbag Sensor: Installation

HINT:

  1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR 
    1. Check that the engine switch is off.
    2. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
      CAUTION: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.
    3. Connect the connector.
    4. Install the front airbag sensor with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If the front airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the front airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
    5. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the front airbag sensor.

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light (PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

      Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
