Monitor GDS Data
- With ignition "OFF", set up an oscilloscope
- Start the engine and check for signal waveform whether synchronize with camshaft sensor or not and tooth is missing refer to sample waveforms as shown in illustration.
Oscilloscope Review - Normal Waveforms of CKPS & CMPS (EX)
A Section : Idling (OCV (-) Duty 41%, (+) Duty 59%)
B Section : Accelerating (OCV (-) Duty 14%, (+) Duty 86%)
(Number of signal teeth for CKPS and CMPS #1 changes in accordance with CVVT system operation.)
- Is the signal waveform normal?
YES
- Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/ or PCM's connector or was repaired and PCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

- Go to "WIRING INSPECTION " procedure.
