Component Inspection

  1. Turn "OFF" the Ignition Switch.
  2. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Turn "ON" the Ignition Switch.
  4. Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
  5. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
  6. Are any DTCs present?

    YES 

    • Replace it with a new ESP (ESC) and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, place the new ESP (ESC) and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault can be intermittent, caused by faulty ESP (ESC). Or, ESP (ESC) memory was not cleared after repair. go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
    NOTE: * In a case of replacing ESP (ESC), perform following functions
    1. "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction (refer to C1261-04 ) - ESP (ESC) only
    2. "Longitudinal Sensor Calibration" for Longitudinal sensor offset correction (refer to C1285-04 ) - ESP (ESC) only
    3. "Variant Coding" for option coding (refer to C1702-04 )
