Air Conditioning: Condenser: Installation

  1. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the condenser with the 2 bolts on the bottom side of the condenser.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

    2. Install the inverter cooling pipe with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 in.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      If the condenser is replaced with a new one, add compressor oil to the new condenser.

      Capacity: 

      40 cc (1.4 fl. oz.) 

      Compressor oil: 

      ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

  2. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the pipe and connecting part of the cooler condenser.
    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the pipe joint.

      Compressor oil: 

      ND-OIL 11 or equivalent 

    3. Install the O-ring on the discharge hose.
    4. Connect the discharge hose to the cooler condenser with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

  3. CONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the pipe and connecting part of the cooler condenser.
    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the pipe joint.

      Compressor oil: 

      ND-OIL 11 or equivalent 

    3. Install the O-ring on the liquid tube.
    4. Connect the liquid tube to the cooler condenser with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  5. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the radiator support with 5 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)

    2. Attach the 6 clamps and install the wire harness.

  6. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )

  9. INSTALL MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  12. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  13. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  14. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  19. CHARGE REFRIGERANT (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  20. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. WARM UP ENGINE (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  22. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  23. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION (2006/02-2006/07) ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
