Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
  • Before performing troubleshooting, inspect the connectors of related circuits.
  • Before replacing the suspension control ECU, perform all of the following again: 1) symptom simulation (see ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ); 2) DTC inspection; and 3) Intelligent tester or Techstream inspection (Data List or Active Test). If no malfunctions are found in other areas, replace the suspension control ECU.
  • If the suspension control ECU or height control sensor is replaced, the vehicle height offset calibration must be performed (see INITIALIZATION  ).
  1. CHECK ECUS CONNECTED TO CAN BUS 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF
    2. Connect the Intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Check the ECUs connected to CAN bus (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )

      Malfunction appears B

    B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING)  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to next Step 

  2. CHECK DTC (ALL) 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF
    2. Connect the Intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3
    3. Check for all DTCs

      Result

      DTC is not output A
      CAN system DTC is output B
      LIN system DTC is output C

    B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING)  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    C: GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING)  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to next Step 

  3. CHECK INDICATOR LIGHT OPERATION (ACTIVE TEST) 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF.
    2. Connect the Intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and the tester ON
    4. Enter the following menus:
      1. Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / BODY / METER /ACTIVE TEST
      2. Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Check the condition of the absorber control indicator light and height control indicator light by operating the tester.

        OK: Indicator light turns on when operating tester. 

    NG: GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING)  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    OK: Go to next Step 

  4. CHECK SWITCH SIGNAL (SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF.
    2. Connect the Intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and the tester ON.
    4. Enter the following menus.
      1. Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / CHASSIS / AIR SUSPENSION / DATA LIST.
      2. Techstream - Select: Chassis / Air suspension / Data List.
    5. Select each item below in the DATA LIST and read its value displayed on the tester.

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See TERMINALS OF ECU  )

  5. CHECK SWITCH SIGNAL (COMBINATION SWITCH DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF
    2. Connect the Intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and the tester ON
    4. Enter the following menus.
      1. Intelligent tester-Select DIAGNOSIS/OBD/MOBD / BODY / CENTER CONSOLE / DATA LIST.
      2. Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / Center Console Switch / Data List
    5. Select each item below in the DATA LIST and read its value displayed on the tester
