How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR )
    2. Delete the DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR )
    3. Based on the DTCs output above, try to force the output of the same CAN communication system DTC or meter / gauge system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC. Then recheck for DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

    Result:

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    CAN communication system DTC is output B
    Meter / gauge system DTC is output C

    B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )

    C: Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )

    A: Go to next Step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to the problem symptoms table (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).

    Result:

    Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

    B:  Go to step  7

    2. DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST )
