Inspection Procedure
- CLEAN DISC
- Clean the disc by wiping the disc underside radially with a soft cloth.
OK: Malfunction disappears.
NOTE: Do not use a conventional record cleaner or antistatic preservative.
NG: Go to step 2
OK: DISC WAS DIRTY
- Clean the disc by wiping the disc underside radially with a soft cloth.
- REPLACE DISC WITH ANOTHER AND RECHECK
- Replace the disc with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again.
OK: Malfunction disappears.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: DISC IS FAULTY
- Replace the disc with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again.
- CHECK WHEN PROBLEM OCCURS
- Check the location in which disc skipping occurs.
Result

- CHECK RADIO RECEIVER INSTALLATION
- Check the installation condition of the radio receiver.
OK: Installed properly.
NG: INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER PROPERLY (See INSTALLATION )
OK: Go to next Step
- Check the installation condition of the radio receiver.
- INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER IN ANOTHER VEHICLE OF SAME MODEL AND COMPARE
- Remove the radio receiver and install it in another vehicle of the same model. Check if the disc sound skips.
OK: Disc sound does not skip.
NG: Go to step 6
OK: MALFUNCTIONS MAY NOT BE PRESENT
- Remove the radio receiver and install it in another vehicle of the same model. Check if the disc sound skips.
- DID TEMPERATURE IN CABIN CHANGE RAPIDLY?
- Check whether or not a rapid temperature change occurred in the cabin.
OK: Rapid temperature change occurred.
HINT:
A rapid temperature change creates condensation inside the disc player, which may disable disc playback.
NG: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: CONDENSATION DUE TO TEMPERATURE CHANGE (LEAVE AS IS FOR A WHILE BEFORE USING)
- Check whether or not a rapid temperature change occurred in the cabin.
