Using M-MDS
- Fully lower the driver-side door glass.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

- Pull out the M-MDS cable from the door glass opening and set the M-MDS outside the vehicle.
CAUTION:
- Protect the cable and body contact area with a clean rag, otherwise they could be damaged.
- After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the M-MDS.
- When using the IDS (notebook PC)
- Select "Body".
- Select "Security".
- Select "PATS Functions".
- When using the PDS (pocket PC)
- Select "Programming".
- Select "PATS Functions".
- Then, select an item from the screen menu.
- Select the "Program Additional card key".
- Perform the security access according to the directions on the M-MDS screen. (See SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE .)
- The security access is initiated and the M-MDS displays "Acquire security access".
NOTE:
- When "OUT-CODE" is first displayed, turning the ignition switch from the LOCK to the ON position 5 times
will change the "OUT-CODE".
- Follow the instructions on the M-MDS screen, obtain the "Incode" that corresponds to the "Outcode".
- Input the "Incode" that corresponds to the "Outcode" displayed on the M-MDS screen.
NOTE:
- After Step 9 is completed and the additional advanced key programming is activated, the door lock actuator operates to lock, and then operates to unlock.
- Press UNLOCK button of the unprogrammed advanced key 2 times while in the vehicle.
NOTE:
- After Step 10 is completed and the advanced key is programmed, the door lock actuator operates to lock, and then operates to unlock.
- If additional advanced keys are to be programmed, go to the advanced key programming mode according to the instructions on the M-MDS screen.
