Steering Angle Sensor Removal/Installation
WARNING:
- Handling the air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS .)
- Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.
- Remove the following parts:
- Driver-side air bag module (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
- Steering wheel (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Clock spring (See CLOCK SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the tabs shown in the figure.
- Pull the steering angle sensor in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the pin from the clock spring.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Perform the steering angle sensor initialization. (See STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
