Instrument Cluster Removal/Installation

CAUTION:
  • When replacing the instrument cluster, always perform the configuration procedure before removing the instrument cluster. Replacing the instrument cluster without performing the configuration procedure will result in a system malfunction.
  1. When replacing the instrument cluster, perform the configuration. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Lower the steering wheel to the bottommost position.
  4. Pull the telescoping portion of the steering column to the end position.
  5. Remove the upper column cover. (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

  7. Remove the screw.

  8. Pull the instrument cluster in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull out it while detaching the clips.

  9. Tilt the instrument cluster in the direction of the arrow.

    CAUTION:
    • Remove the instrument cluster while avoiding the steering wheel or switch panel. Otherwise, the instrument cluster could hit the steering wheel or switch panel and cause a damage.
  10. Remove the instrument cluster.

  11. Disconnect the connector.

  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  13. If the instrument cluster is replaced, program the immobilizer system-related parts.

    CAUTION:
    • To prevent grease leakage from the instrument cluster, place the removed instrument cluster with the display surface facing up.
