Hood Release Cable Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Set plate (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Fresh-air duct installation bolt (See INTAKE AIR GUIDE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Front combination light (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Horn (See HORN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Shroud upper member (See SHROUD UPPER MEMBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Front mudguard (Driver's side) (See MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Hood latch protector (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Hood release lever (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch.
  4. Remove the hood release cable from clip.

  5. Remove the grommet.
  6. Remove the hood release cable.
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
