Driver-Side Lower Panel Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Driver-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Driver-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Hood release lever (See HOOD RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Fuel-filler lid opener lever (See FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Partially peel back the seaming welt.
  4. Remove the bolt.

  5. Move the driver-side lower panel in the order of arrows (1), (2), and (3) shown in the figure, and detach clips A and B, and the hooks.

  6. Move the driver-side lower panel in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and detach clips A and B, and the guide.

  7. Disconnect the cluster switch connector.

  8. Remove the clip.
  9. Remove the DLC-2 connector.
  10. Remove the screw.
  11. Remove the bracket.

  12. Remove the driver-side lower panel.
  13. Remove the cluster switch when replacing the driver-side lower panel. (See CLUSTER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
