CONDITION & CAUSE

Some 1987 vehicles may have cruise control that does not maintain a steady vehicle speed. Condition may be caused by a distance sensor malfunction. Vehicle may exhibit intermittent speed loss and speed gain (surging) or a complete cut-out of the speed control system altogether. As the distance sensor failure is affected by underhood temperature, conditions will not occur until vehicle has been driven at least 15 miles In most cases. Condition applies to vehicles manufactured before mid 12-86.
