The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.

  1. 3:  This step inspects the operation of the stop lamps.
  2. 4:  This step test the EBCM stop lamp circuit for an open or high resistance.

1 Did you perform A Diagnostic System Check - ABS? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - ABS 
2 Is DTC 67 set as a current DTC? Go to Step 3  Go to Diagnostic Aids
Press the brake pedal while observing the stop lamp operation.
Do the stop lamps operate?
Go to Step 4  Go to Stop Lamps Inoperative in Lighting Systems
Test the EBCM stop lamp circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 5 
5 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the EBCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 6 
6 Replace the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 7  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?
Go to Step 2  System OK
