PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE - LOCKS AND SECURITY

SYMPTOM	PROCEDURE
DECKLID/LIFTGATE INOPERATIVE LOCK AND UNLOCK FUNCTIONS OPERATE NORMALLY	CHART 1 - DECKLID/LIFTGATE INOPERATIVE LOCK & UNLOCK OPERATE NORMALLY
LOCK and UNLOCK functions on transmitter and interior door switches inoperative DECKLID/LIFTGATE operate normally	Check CKT 450 for open between RIPFB and RIGHT Body Ground Splice Pack. If OK, replace body control module (BCM). In addition check, check circuits 195, 194 and 1391.
Lock function inoperative, UNLOCK function operates normally	CHART 2 - LOCK FUNCTION INOPERATIVE - UNLOCK FUNCTION OPERATES NORMALLY
LOCK function inoperative, only driver door UNLOCK function operates.	Monitor ALL LOCK RELAY FEEDBACK on Scan tool while activating locks. Feedback should follow command. If not, check Door Lock Relay in RIPFB or CKT 195, for open/short to ground. If OK, replace body control module (BCM)
LOCK and UNLOCK functions inoperative for drive door. LOCK and UNLOCK functions for all other doors operate normally.	Check for open CKT 294, 340, 780, 781, or 295 or driver door lock motor. Check driver door jam switch. If OK, replace body control module (BCM)
UNLOCK function inoperative for all door except Driver door. Lock Function operates normally.	Monitor Passenger Unlock Relay Feedback on Scan tool while activating locks. Feedback should follow command. If not, check for open CKT 194 or Other Doors Unlock Relay. If OK, replace body control module (BCM).
Driver door LOCK inoperative. Switch also does not lock other doors. Passenger door switch operates normally.	Check for open/short to ground in CKT 340 or CKT 780 between RIPFB and driver door switch. Check driver door switch. If OK, replace body control module (BCM).
Passenger door LOCK inoperative. Switch also does not lock other doors. Driver door switch operates normally.	Check for open/short to ground in CKT 340 or CKT 781 between RIPFB and passenger door switch. Check passenger door switch. If OK, replace body control module (BCM).
Driver door UNLOCK inoperative. Switch also does not lock other doors. Passenger door switch operates normally.	Check for open/short to ground in CKT 340 or CKT 780 between RIPFB and driver door switch. Check driver door switch. If OK, replace body control module (BCM).
Passenger door UNLOCK inoperative. Switch also does not lock other doors. Driver door switch operates normally.	Check for open/short to ground in CKT 340 or CKT 781 between RIPFB and passenger door switch. Check passenger door switch. If OK, replace body control module (BCM).
Passenger door LOCK and UNLOCK inoperative. Driver door switch operates normally.	Check for open/short to ground in CKT 340 or CKT 781 between RIPFB and passenger door switch. Check passenger door switch. If OK, replace body control module (BCM).
Right rear door LOCK and UNLOCK inoperative.	Check for open/short to ground in CKT 294 or motor or CKT 295 If OK, Check door linkage.
Left rear door LOCK and UNLOCK inoperative.	Check for open/short to ground in CKT 294 or motor or CKT 295 If OK, Check door linkage.
Illuminated entry does not work with LOCK and UNLOCK functions.	Refer to "INTERIOR LAMPS"
Transmitters will not synchronize or program.	CHART 3 - TRANSMITTERS WILL NOT SYNCHRONIZE OR PROGRAM
RKE system interferes with other system frequencies.	The Remote Keyless Entry System operates on a radio frequency subject to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Regulations. The Saturn RKE system compiles with Part 15 of the FCC Rules Other System may not. Inform customer that changes or modifications to the RKE system could vilate FCC regulations
Saturn Security System Inoperative	Perform Saturn Security System Check
Saturn Security System will not arm, RKE still functions	Perform Saturn Security System Check
DRL lamps do not flash when system is activated	CHART 4 - DRL LAMPS DO NOT FLASH WHEN ALARM IS ACTIVATED
No horn activation when door is opened and security system is armed	CHART 5 - NO HORN ACTIVATION WHEN DOOR IS OPENED, SECURITY SYSTEM ARMED
No horn activation or DRL lamp flash when ignition is turned with security system armed	CHART 6 - NO HORN ACTIVATION OR DRL LAMP FLASH WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED ON WITH SECURITY SYSTEM ARMED
Dome lamp operates in "ON" position, but not in "DOOR" position.	CHART 7 - DOME LAMP OPERATES IN "ON" POSITION, BUT NOT IN "DOOR" POSITION
Dome lamp stays on after system is armed.	Dome lamp switch in door position, all doors closed, and security system not armed. If dome lamp is on, refer to dome lamp diagnosis.
Panic feature inoperative.	Press panic button on all transmitters. If all transmitters will not operate panic feature, replace RKE module.
Steering wheel will not unlock	CHART 8 - STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT UNLOCK
Key difficult to remove from ignition hook	CHART 9 - KEY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE FROM IGNITION LOCK
