Lower Instrument Panel: Installation

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX 
    1. Install the instrument panel box with the 8 < A > screws.

  2. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the claw and install the glove compartment door stopper.

  3. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Engage the 2 claws and install the front passenger seat belt warning light.

  4. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a nipper, cut off both ends of the runner portion shown in the illustration (When installing a new one).

    2. Install the lower instrument panel with the < A > screw, 10 < C > screws, 2 < E > bolts, < F > screw.

    3. Connect the 2 clamps.
    4. Connect the front passenger seat belt warning light connector.
    5. Engage the 2 claws and install the DLC3 connector.

  5. INSTALL ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the 2 clamps and install the antenna cord.

  6. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 3 claws to connect the hood lock control lever.

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SEAL 
    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the instrument finish panel seal.

  8. INSTALL RADIO BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 1 radio bracket with the 2 < G > bolts.

      Torque: 23 N*m (229 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install the No. 2 radio bracket with the 2 < G > bolts.

      Torque: 23 N*m (229 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf)

  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB REINFORCEMENT 
    1. Install the instrument panel sub reinforcement with the 2 < D > bolts.

  10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the each connectors.
    2. Engage the 2 clips, 7 claws and install the instrument panel finish lower panel.

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
    1. Connect the 2 connectors.
    2. Engage the 2 clips, 3 claws and install the switch hole base.

  12. CONNECT AIR MIX DAMPER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. CONNECT NO. 2 HEATER CONTROL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING PANEL ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION (for Automatic Transaxle)  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  18. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (for Automatic Transaxle)  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)  (See INSTALLATION )
  20. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. ADJUST TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE (for Manual Transaxle)  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL (for Automatic Transaxle) 
    1. Engage the 6 clips and install the instrument panel finish lower panel.

    2. Install the 4 < A > screws.

  23. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL (for Manual Transaxle) 
    1. Engage the 6 clips and install the instrument panel finish lower panel.

    2. Install the 2 < A > screws.

  24. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
    1. Engage the 3 claws and guide and install the front console box insert.

  25. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
    1. Engage the 3 claws and guide and install the front console box insert.

  26. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER LOWER PANEL 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 2 clips, 4 claws and install the instrument cluster finish center lower panel.

  27. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) 
    1. Turn the shift lever knob clockwise and install the shift lever knob.

  40. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  41. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  42. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  43. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
