Converter Case: Installation
- Check the appearance of each component and clean them.
- Press-fit the new oil seal to converter case using ST.
ST 398437700 DRIFT
- Install the front differential assembly to the case. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Front Differential Assembly.>
- Install the right and left side retainers. < Ref. to ADJUSTMENT , Front Differential Assembly.>
- Install new seal pipe to converter case.
- Install new rubber pipe to converter case.
- Apply proper amount of liquid gasket to the entire matching surface of converter case.
Liquid gasket:
THREE BOND 1215 (Part No. 004403007) or equivalent
- Install the converter case assembly without damaging the bushing and oil seal.NOTE: Use new bolts to the oil charge pipe.
Tightening torque:
Oil charge pipe
38 N.m (3.9 kgf-m, 28.0 ft-lb)
Parts other than the oil charge pipe
41 N.m (4.2 kgf-m, 30.2 ft-lb)
- Insert the inhibitor switch connector and transmission harness connector onto the stay.
- Install the air breather hose. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Air Breather Hose.>
- Install the ATF cooler pipe. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , ATF Cooler Pipe and Hose.>
- Install the oil charger pipe along with the O-ring. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Oil Charge Pipe.>
- Insert the input shaft while rotating it lightly by hand, and then check the amount of protrusion.
Normal protrusion A:
50 - 55 mm (1.97 - 2.17 in)
- Install the torque converter clutch assembly. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Torque Converter Clutch Assembly.>
- Install the transmission assembly to the vehicle. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Automatic Transmission Assembly.>
