Communication For Initializing Impossible: Wiring Diagram

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Check Yes No
1 CHECK OTHER COMMUNICATION. 
Communicate with the system other than the infotainment system using the Subaru Select Monitor.		 Is the communication to other control module possible? Go to step 2  . Perform the "Communication for Initializing Impossible" of LAN system.
2 CHECK LAN SYSTEM. 
Inspect LAN system. < Ref. to PROCEDURE , Basic Diagnostic Procedure. >		 Is there any fault? Perform the inspection according to the diagnosis for LAN system. Go to step 3  .
3 CHECK FUSE. 
Check the fuse of the infotainment system. < Ref. to LOCATION , Relay and Fuse. >		 Is it normal? Go to step 4  . Replace the fuse. If the replaced fuse blows out easily, repair the ground short circuit of the harness between the battery and audio (7-inch display) connector, or between the navigation unit connector.
4 CHECK HARNESS. 
  1. Turn off the audio (7-inch display) or navigation unit.
  2. Disconnect the audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  4. Using the tester, measure the voltage between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and chassis ground.

    Connector & terminal 

    (i85) No. 4 (+) - Chassis ground (-): (without power amplifier) 

    (i35) No. 4 (+) - Chassis ground (-): (with power amplifier) 

    (i87) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-): 

 Is the voltage 10 - 13 V? Go to step 5  . Repair the open circuit of harness between audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector and fuse.
5 CHECK INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM MODULE. 
  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Connect the audio (7-inch display) connector or navigation unit connector.
  3. Perform the communication with the infotainment system.
 Is communication possible? It is possible that temporary poor communication occurs. Replace the audio (7-inch display) or navigation unit. < Ref. to AUDIO . > < Ref. to NAVIGATION BODY . >
