Keyless entry system allows the doors to be locked and unlocked and rear window to be opened by the use of a hand held remote transmitter. The transmitter operates from a distance of about 3 feet. A signal is transmitted to the body Electronic Control Unit (ECU), providing control of keyless entry system. Pushing the LOCK button one time will lock all side and back (luggage compartment) doors. At this time, one beep will sound, and the parking and taillights will flash one time. To turn off the theft deterrent system and unlock driver's door, push the remote transmitter UNLOCK button. To unlock all doors, push UNLOCK button again within 3 seconds. Each time the UNLOCK button is pushed, the system will beep two times. If doors are not opened within 30 seconds, all the doors will automatically lock. The system is also equipped with a panic feature, which is activated by the PANIC button on the remote transmitter. The buzzer will sound for one minute or until the PANIC button is depressed a second time.

System includes a self-diagnostic function that will test communication between remote transmitter and receiver. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
