Section 463 (Air Conditioning): Thermistor: Inspection

  1. REMOVE BLOWER UNIT (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  2. REMOVE THERMISTOR 
    1. Disconnect the thermistor connector.
    2. Disconnect the connector clamp.
    3. Release the 4 claws and remove the harness.
    4. Using a screwdriver, pull out the thermistor from the A/C unit.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    5. Release the 2 claws and remove the thermistor from the bracket plate.

  3. INSPECT THERMISTOR 
    1. Place the thermistor in cold water, and while changing the temperature of water, measure resistance at the connector and at the same time, measure temperature of water with a thermometer.

    2. Compare the 2 readings on the graphs.

      If resistance is not as specified, replace the thermistor.

  4. REINSTALL THERMISTOR 
    1. Install the thermistor to the bracket plate.
    2. Install the thermistor to the A/C unit case.
    3. Connect the connector clamp.
    4. Connect the thermistor connector.
  5. REINSTALL BLOWER UNIT (See  REMOVAL   )
