Test 17B, Modulator Fault
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 60-pin connector. Check and clean connector terminals, and repair if necessary. Select DRB-II ohmmeter mode. See DRB-II VOLT/OHMMETER MODE under DRB-II TEST FUNCTIONS. Probe modulator female connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/White wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Brown/White wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A .
- If resistance is 5 ohms or more, connect jumper wire between ground and CAB connector terminal No. 42 (Brown/White wire). See Figure . Using DRB-II ohmmeter mode, probe modulator female connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace CAB. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Brown/White wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A .
