Dashboard Removal
WARNING:
- Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. - Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Windshield wiper arm and blade (See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Windshield wiper motor and link (See WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Side cowl grille (See SIDE COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

- Disconnect the dashboard harness connectors and remove the wiring harness clips.
- Remove the nuts.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the dashboard bracket.
- To prevent damage to the windshield, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the caps and the bolts.
- Move the dashboard in the direction of the arrow in the order of (1), (2) shown in the figure, then remove the guide pins.
- While rotating the dashboard in the direction shown in the figure, pull it out toward the vehicle's rear side.
- Take the dashboard off from the front driver-side door or front passenger-side door opening.
