Installation Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt tensioner. See Drive Belt Tensioner Removal 
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner - left side. See Drive Belt Tensioner Removal - Left Side 
  3. Remove the oil level indicator and tube (LAU). See Oil Level Indicator and Tube Removal (LAU) 
  4. Remove the oil filter adapter (LAU). See Oil Filter Adapter Removal (LAU) 
  5. Remove the Upper Intake Manifold (LAU) 
  6. Remover the Lower Intake Manifold (LAU) 
  7. Remove the water outlet. See Water Outlet Removal 
  8. Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing (LAU). See Coolant Thermostat Housing Removal (LAU) 
  9. Remove the crankshaft balance weight. See Crankshaft Balancer Removal 
  10. Remove the engine flywheel. See Engine Flywheel Removal 
  11. Remove the automatic transmission flex plate. See Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Removal 
  12. Remove the water pump. See Water Pump Removal 
  13. Remove the throttle body unit (LAU). See Throttle Housing Unit Removal (LAU) 
  14. Remove the engine front cover (LAU). See Engine Front Cover Removal (LAU) 
  15. Remove the exhaust turbocharger intake manifold - left side. See Exhaust Turbocharger Inlet Pipe Removal - Left Side 
  16. Remove the exhaust turbocharger intake manifold - right side. See Exhaust Turbocharger Inlet Pipe Removal - Right Side 
  17. Remove the turbocharger oil feed pipe. See Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Removal 
  18. Remove the turbocharger coolant feed pipe. See Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe Removal 
  19. Remove the turbocharger coolant return line. See Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Removal 
  20. Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe. See Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Removal 
  21. Remove the turbocharger. See Turbocharger Removal 
  22. Remove the turbocharger heat shield. See Turbocharger Heat Shield Removal 
  23. Remove the secondary air pipe with check valve. See Secondary Air Injection Pipe with Check Valve Removal 
  24. Remove the turbocharger holder. See Turbocharger Bracket Removal 
  25. Remove the exhaust manifold - right side. See Exhaust Manifold Removal - Right Side 
  26. Remove the exhaust manifold - left side. See Exhaust Manifold Removal - Left Side 
  27. Remove the camshaft cover - left side (LAU). See Camshaft Cover Removal - Left Side (LAU) 
  28. Remove the camshaft cover - right side (LAU). See Camshaft Cover Removal - Right Side (LAU) 
  29. Remove the secondary timing chain tensioner - right side. See Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner Removal - Right Side 
  30. Remove the suspension arm of the secondary chain guide - right side. See Secondary Pivot Arm Timing Chain Guide Removal - Right Side 
  31. Remove the secondary timing chain guide - right side. See Secondary Timing Chain Guide Removal - Right Side 
  32. Remove the secondary camshaft intermediate drive chain - right side. See Secondary Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Removal - Right Side 
  33. Remove the primary timing chain tensioner. See Primary Timing Chain Tensioner Removal 
  34. Remove the main guide of the timing chain - upper. See Primary Timing Chain Guide Removal - Upper 
  35. Remove the primary timing chain guide - lower. See Primary Timing Chain Guide Removal - Lower 
  36. Remove the primary camshaft intermediate drive chain. See Primary Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Removal

  38. Remove the camshaft actuator - left side exhaust. See Camshaft Position Actuator Removal - Left Side Exhaust 
  39. Remove the camshaft actuator - left side intake. See Camshaft Position Actuator Removal - Left Side Intake 
  40. Remove the camshaft actuator - right side exhaust. See Camshaft Position Actuator Removal - Right Side Exhaust 
  41. Remove the camshaft actuator - right side intake. See Camshaft Position Actuator Removal - Right Side Intake 
  42. Remove the camshaft - left side. See Camshaft Removal - Left Side 
  43. Remove the fuel rail (LAU). See Fuel Rail Removal (LAU) 
  44. Remove the cylinder head - left side. See Cylinder Head Removal - Left Side

  47. Remove the oil sump. See Oil Pan Removal 
  48. Remove oil dipstick.
  49. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal and housing. See Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal and Housing Removal 
  50. Remove the piston, connecting rod and bearing. See Piston, Connecting Rod, and Bearing Removal 
  51. Remove the piston oil nozzle. See Piston Oil Nozzle Removal 
  52. Remove the crankshaft and bearing. See Crankshaft and Bearing Removal 
  53. Remove the cylinder block (LAU). See Engine Block Dismantling (LAU) 
  54. Remove the secondary timing chain tensioner - left side. See Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner Removal - Left Side

  58. Remove the timing chain idler gear - right side. See Timing Chain Idler Sprocket Removal - Right Side

  60. Remove the valve rocker arm - left side. See Valve Rocker Arm Removal - Left Side
